Apprentice Ecommerce Assistant

Monday to Friday

830-4 (1/2 hour unpaid lunch) 35 hours per week

Weekly Wage £145.25

18 Month Apprenticeship

This is a paid learning employment opportunity to earn whilst you learn in a busy online warehouse.  You will be working as an Ecommerce assistant in an established Gift Company based in Lincoln.   As part of your apprenticeship you will be helping the company grow their online and social media presence, help web pages to rank higher on search engines, learn how to create product content, write blogs and assist in the administration of a busy online warehouse.  With confidence to deal with customer service interacting with customers through emails, live chat and telephone calls.  On site training to develop all skills needed to work on websites content, ebay and Amazon marketplaces and live chat software.


Role Purpose: Work within the online team to add creative content to websites and marketplaces.  Assist with email marketing and social media.  Assist small office team with administration and customer service.


Reporting To: Assistant Manager


Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities: 

  • Ensuring products have the required data and imagery to launch on time and working to resolve any issues as quickly as possible to optimise sales on site.
  • Prioritise the workflow of new product setup for seasonal items.
  • Plan weekly product set up targets and report progress.
  • Optimise  website navigation, customer journey and product placement to drive online sales.
  • Maintain and update all documentation regarding product information and attributes.
  • Support in delivering seasonal promotion and price amendments across the website, in line with company trading calendar.
  • Assist with customer returns, rebooking in of stock and costing product loss on excel.
  • Answer customer phone calls
  • Answer customer emails through outlook and market place portals.
  • Work on live chat software
  • Assist with administration projects​


Other Duties:

In peak periods assist the warehouse with product picking and parcel packaging.  Work on preparation of bulk products to send to Amazon fulfilment warehouse.

  • Grades A-C in GCSE Maths & English Language (can include equivalent e.g. Functional Skills Level 2 or A-Levels)
  • Creativity and a passion for IT
  • Good communication skills
  • Good creative writing skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to plan and organise your workload
  • Hungry to succeed in the ecommerce industry
  • Excel skills preferable

What kind of training will you receive?


Training will take place in the workplace.  We will support you and teach you the skills required to fulfil the position with on the job training.  Supported by Lagat to work towards an NVQ Level 3 in Business Administration
